Saltsburg Kayak + Canoe Outfitters is here to make your river trip the best it can be, so if you have questions, please call us.  It's our goal to make sure that you have a great trip. We consider it a privilege to serve our customers, and we will go out of our way to make your day on the river the absolute best.

 

Some of the items that you might consider bringing with you would be sunscreen, swimwear, sandals or water shoes, change of clothes, sunglasses, hat, water or drinks, waterproof bags or containers.  Our river adventures last for 3 to 5.5 hours.

 

  • You will need to have a cell phone on board in case you need to call us or visa versa. 
  • A valid driver's license is needed to rent any of our kayaks or canoes.
  • Before departing on your journey, all passengers will be required to sign a printed waiver - You can download and print the waiver and have it filled out and signed to expedite your launch.
  • We have some items you may need for sale in our shop.
 

Our pricing for each river adventure is shown below, you can mix and match the boats to accommodate your group.  If you are not sure what boats you want to rent, our experienced staff will set you up with the boats that will allow for a safe and comfortable trip down the river.

  • CONEMAUGH DAM TO SALTSBURG
    The area's most popular trip is a 7.5 mile float from the Conemaugh Dam back to historic Saltsburg. Paddlers park their car at our location in Saltsburg and are shuttled to the launch site just below the Conemaugh Dam. From there, paddlers will float back to our riverside location.
  • SALTSBURG TO APOLLO (weekends only)
    A beautiful and scenic 12 mile trip down the Kiskiminetas River that lasts approximately 5 to 5.5 hours. If you are renting a boat, you will launch from Saltsburg and we will pick you up at Roaring Run Trailhead and return you to your car. If you have your own boat, we can pick you up in Apollo at the Roaring Run Trailhead at 8 am sharp.

    Kayak Rental Pricing
     Single $43 + tax • Tandem $59 + tax 

    Canoe Rental Pricing
    $59 + tax 

    Boat Shuttle  - if you are bringing your own boat
    $20 per boat/per shuttle + tax 

  • SALTSBURG TO APOLLO (weekends only)
    If you need a rental, someone must stay with your rental when the trip is over until equipment is picked up.

    Kayak Rental Pricing
    Single $72 + tax • Tandem $84 + tax 

    Canoe Rental Pricing
    $84 + tax 

    Boat Shuttle - if you are bringing your own boat
    $25 per boat + tax 

BOATS MUST BE RETURNED BY 5:00 PM ON WEEKDAYS AND 7:00 PM ON WEEKENDS

If boats are late, you will be charged $50 per boat.
